Sir John Campbell Longstaff (1861–1941) was a distinguished Australian painter renowned for his portraiture and his role as an official war artist during World War I. He trained at the Melbourne National Gallery School before continuing in Paris, went on to win the Archibald Prize five times, and was knighted in 1928.

Connection to Ambrose Patterson
